Cancellation and Refund Policy

I understand that occasionally appointments need to be cancelled or rearranged. This policy explains what happens if you cancel, miss or arrive late for an appointment, and what happens if I need to cancel.

This policy applies to counselling, psychotherapy and clinical supervision appointments provided by Rosalind Fury. Where a course, workshop, programme, training event or other service has separate cancellation terms, these will be provided at the time of booking.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights.

Counselling, Psychotherapy and Clinical Supervision

Appointment Times

Appointments are reserved specifically for you and begin and end at the agreed time.

If you arrive early for an in-person appointment, please wait until your scheduled appointment time.

If you arrive late, we can still use the remaining appointment time, but unfortunately I will not normally be able to extend the session beyond its scheduled end time.

If you are more than 15 minutes late and have not contacted me, I will assume that you are unable to attend and the appointment will normally be treated as a missed session.

Online and Telephone Appointments

For online appointments, please join using the link or platform agreed for your session at the scheduled appointment time.

For telephone appointments, I will call you at the agreed time unless we have arranged otherwise.

If I am unable to reach you, I may make a further attempt a few minutes later. The appointment will still run from its original scheduled start time.

If I have not heard from you within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, the appointment will normally be treated as a missed session.

Technical Difficulties

Occasionally, technical problems can affect online or telephone appointments.

If a technical problem occurs, we will try to resolve it or, where practical, continue using another agreed method such as telephone.

If a significant technical problem on my side means that I am unable to provide the appointment, I will offer to rearrange the session or provide an appropriate refund or credit.

If the problem is on your side, I will make reasonable efforts to find an alternative way of continuing the appointment. Where this is not possible, the circumstances will be considered reasonably and in accordance with this cancellation policy.

48-Hour Cancellation Policy

Please give me at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.

If you give more than 48 hours' notice, you will not normally be charged for the cancelled appointment and any advance payment for that appointment will either be refunded or transferred to another appointment, as appropriate.

Where less than 48 hours' notice is given, or you do not attend an appointment without notice, you may be charged the session fee because that time has been reserved specifically for you and may not be possible to offer to another client.

Any cancellation charge will be applied fairly and in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Exceptional Circumstances

I recognise that genuine emergencies and unexpected circumstances happen.

If something outside your reasonable control prevents you from attending or giving the required notice, please contact me as soon as you are able.

I may, at my discretion and depending upon the circumstances, waive or reduce a cancellation charge or offer an alternative appointment.

This discretion does not alter the general 48-hour cancellation policy.

If I Need to Cancel Your Appointment

Very occasionally, illness, emergency or another unforeseen circumstance may mean that I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.

I will give you as much notice as reasonably possible.

If I cancel an appointment, you will not be charged for that session. If you have already paid, you will be offered either a transfer of the payment to a rearranged appointment or a refund of the amount paid for the cancelled appointment.

I will not be responsible for incidental expenses or losses resulting from an appointment being rearranged or cancelled, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Repeated Cancellations or Missed Appointments

If appointments are repeatedly booked and then cancelled or missed, we may need to discuss whether continuing to reserve regular appointment times is appropriate.

In some circumstances, I may ask for payment in advance before further appointments are booked.

Any advance payment and applicable cancellation conditions will be clearly explained before the appointment is booked and will be applied fairly and in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Refunds

Where a refund is due, I will arrange it using an appropriate payment method as soon as reasonably practicable.

The time taken for the funds to appear in your account may depend on your bank or payment provider.

Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.

Courses, Workshops, Training and Programmes

Courses, workshops, training, group programmes and other events may have different cancellation arrangements because places may be limited and costs may be incurred in advance.

Where different terms apply, these will be clearly explained before you make a booking or payment.

Any statutory cancellation rights that apply to the particular booking will continue to apply.
